Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers vie for NFC supremacy on Sunday night

Green Bay and San Francisco Match If the Packers visit with Levis Arena on Sunday Night Football in a game that could decide home-field advantage Throughout the NFC playoffs.

The 49ers (9-1) still have the conferences best record following their last-gasp win over Arizona last week, while the Packers (8-2) will keep their one-game guide over the Vikings in the NFC North with a triumph.
And this may be a game for the entire league – on the last 13 seasons, there have been five events where groups with 2 or fewer losses have met with this late in the year.
The winners of the past two games have moved on to win the Super Bowl (Denver in 2015 after defeating New England and Seattle at 2013 after defeating New Orleans).
Despite missing the playoffs last year, both these teams have been contenders now. These next six games will determine if the NFC playoff race will go through a few of the home areas.
The two head coaches – Matt LaFleur and Kyle Shanahan – know each other well. They worked in Washington Houston and Atlanta, and both are in dialog for coach of the year.
After a record over his first two seasons as San Francisco head coach, Shanahan has turned his team about in outstanding fashion. With winning eight straight games before their 27-24 overtime loss they finished last season and started this one.
With a win on Sunday, the 49ers will combine the 2016 Dallas Cowboys as the only teams to win 10 of the first 11 games in a year after winning fewer or four matches the year at NFL history.
In the first time as the man in charge of LaFleur, the Packers therefore are three wins away in their record since 2014 and also look as they will return to the postseason.
I really feel like we see it so much alike, LaFleur said. Thats a byproduct of working with someone else for so long and having a whole lot of conversations about it. I feel like hes taught me how to find the game.
LaFleur called 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Salehone of my closest buddies in life while his brother, Mike, is your Niners passing game coordinator. There is more on the line than a spot at the peak of the summit.
Perhaps due to their experiences, Shanahan and LaFleur are offensive-minded head trainers and their attention is the game.
The 49ers have the second-best rushing attack in the league together with 149 yards per game (supporting the Baltimore Ravens and their mad 203.1 YPG pace), caused by home-run risks in Tevin Coleman and Matt Breida.
Together with Breida banged up along with Coleman missing time at the start of the year, back-ups Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr have made significant contributions – Mostert is averaging 5.2 yards per carry while Wilson Jr has scored five total touchdowns, including the game-winner last week against the Cardinals.
Green Bay, meanwhile, do not have the remarkable team stats over the course of this season, however they feature an impressive one-two punch of Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams.
Both players have averaged over five yards per play over the previous six weeks and Jones 14 complete TDs are tied for the NFL lead (with Christian McCaffrey).
At quarterback, Aaron Rodgers and Jimmy Garoppolo differ in their turnovers.
Two-time league MVP Rodgers has been in a position to look after the ball, throwing two interceptions in contrast to 17 touchdowns. That places his 102.7 passer rating in the top 10.
Garoppolo, however, has been chosen the fourth-most days from the league (10) even though he has thrown one more TD than Rodgers. His 97.7 passer rating isnt far off, however he is also fumbled seven times (in comparison to Rodgers 2 ).
Fortunately forJimmy G, he has strong support on the opposing side of the ball…
The 49ers have the edge on defense.
They are tied for the league lead in sacks (39) using Arik Armstead (eight), Nick Bosa (seven), Dee Ford (6.5) and DeForest Buckner (five) giving the 49ers the only quartet of players with five-plus sacks.
That group cultivated a defense which ranks second in defensive passer rating (72.3) and fourth in interceptions (11). As a general group, they are next to only the New England Patriots in yards per game allowed (253.0) and points (15.5).
Rodgers recognises what hes up against, stating:They have had a range of sacks, which is obviously helping not only their general yardage but also the back end also, since the back end understands the ball got to come out at a specific moment.
There are not any holes with this defense. It is solid from the seven that are front into the end also. Theyre playing well together. Its definitely going to be a excellent test for us
After a solid beginning to this year, the Packers have fallen off drastically about the defensive front – that they rank in the bottom ten in passing, rushing and total yards allowed, and have shrunk to the middle of the bunch with 20.5 points per game allowed.
